Methylcobalamin (mecobalamin, MeCbl, or MeB12) is a cobalamin, a form of vitamin B12. It differs from cyanocobalamin in that the cyanide is replaced by a methyl group. Methylcobalamin features an octahedral cobalt(III) centre. Methylcobalamin can be obtained as bright red crystals. Methylcobalamin can be produced in the laboratory by reducing cyanocobalamin with sodium borohydride in alkaline solution, followed by the addition of methyl iodide.

Our manufacturing processes for Methylcobalamin beadlets:
The powder of Methylcobalamin is mixed with other excipients in a high shear mixer and the wet mass is fed into a single screw or a twin screw extruder, the wet extrudates are then fed in wet condition into a spheronizer. The spheronization time varies per product but in approximately 5 minutes the extrudates are converted into spherical round spheres which are then further dried in a fluid bed dryer then further coated in a bottom spray fluid bed coater when needed. A vacuum tray dryer is also used when the product demands sensitive drying.
